About Baywood Home Care
25+ years of providing personal home care services across the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota
Since 2000, Baywood has been helping people live safely and comfortably at home with support that goes beyond the task list. We believe the best care starts with knowing the person—their routines, preferences, personality and what matters most to them.
Our Story
Founded on a different vision for home care
Baywood Home Care was founded in 2000 by Dr. Dorothy Muffet, who left a successful corporate career with a clear vision for something different: a home care model centered on people, not systems. She believed exceptional care should help people live life fully, safely and comfortably in their own homes.
Since Dorothy’s passing in 2022, her legacy has been carried forward by Henrietta Nayoh, one of Baywood’s first employees. Henrietta started as a caregiver and moved into successive roles of increasing responsibility, becoming Dorothy’s second in command. Today, she leads a devoted team of nurses, caregivers and office staff, many of whom have been with us since the beginning. Together, we bring experience, heart and dedication to the families we support throughout the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota.
At Baywood, we understand that home care is really about family. It’s about trust, connection and knowing someone will be there when help is needed. We’re honored to be a steady presence, providing peace of mind and personalized care that helps people stay where they feel most comfortable: at home.

Mission & Values
Our mission is simple: to support the well-being of everyone we care for.
These are the values that guide how we care for people every day.
Why Families Choose Baywood
What makes us different from other home care agencies
✓We match, we don’t just staff. We choose caregivers for fit, considering things like personality, language, interests and other preferences. And once we find the right fit, we prioritize consistency so clients can build trust with a familiar caregiver.
✓Care is guided by a nurse. An RN case manager develops the care plan, helps prepare caregivers to follow it and adjusts it as needs change.
✓We go beyond the task list. We believe care happens in the relationship. Our caregivers are known as everything from bingo buddies and crossword partners to gardening pals and birding companions.
✓25 years of care, still deeply personal. Baywood has been independently serving families since 2000, with the same focus on responsive, relationship-centered care.
✓We care for adults at every stage. Our clients range from age 18 to 100+, including adults who need disability support, workers’ compensation care and help managing complex health needs.
✓No long-term contracts. You can scale hours up or down as life changes.
